I've done a similar card with this same image and only coloring the door. I really like the simplicity of the black and white and then the pop of the red door.

Top Note Quilt

Wow! It's been a while since I posted a card, hasn't it? I've seen some beautiful cards made with this technique on SCS's gallery and I've been wanting to try it myself. The only thing I would do different is to make the squares smaller so that you can see more of the side pieces. This is a great way to use up some of your scrap dp!

Recipe: white base, Close to Cocoa cs, Victora CB folder, Kaiser chocolate pearls, Kaiser pink rhinestones, SU! Top Note die, Tag Lines by Gina K, Word Window punch, Close to Cocoa ink.

SCS Color Challenge

Wow! 2 cards in one day! Haven't done that in a while :) I was actually on a roll and had some time, so why not? This is for the cholor challenge over at SCS. We had to use Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, black and white. I chose this flower from Gina K's Friendship's Garden and colored it with my copics, layered it with nesties and finally used one of my smaller CB strips.

Recpie: Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, Basic Black and GP white cardstock

Copics (YG67, YG63, BV00, BV02, Y11), Labels 4.

STVCC21

For Stamp TV's color challenge this week, we had to use red, black and white. I wanted to make sure that the red "popped", so I used it sparingly - on the door and main card base. The dp is from PTI and I always forget I have this pack, so I'm glad to have a challenge that I could use it in. The main image is from Gina K's The Journey set.

Recipe:

Pure Poppy and dp from PTI, Basic Black cs, Octogon and Long Scalloped Rectangle Nesties, black Kaiser pearls, ribbon, copics (R35, R37 & R39).

Welcome Patrick!

Here's the newest image from Sunshine Stamps (see link on right). Isn't he dear! The sentiment is one I printed off my 'puter. The sight of a police car in my rearview mirror really does get my heart racing, but not in the right way - lol! Thought I would send this off to my DH who's currently in Baghdad - miss you Mike!!!!

Can you guess???

The newest Digi Stamp from Sunshine's Paper Obsession is almost here - can you guess what he is??? Check out her blog on Saturday for all the details.

Here's Lenny!

My first Lenny Loader card! You can find him at Sunshine's Paper Obsession along with some other adorable images.

StampTV color challenge

I'm just loving this new IC color Rich Razzelberry! It goes so well with Chocolate Chip and the Razzelberry Lemonade dp. At StampTV, they challenged us to look outside and do a card based on a flower we saw. I was walking with a friend yesterday and taking pics and I spotted a beautiful flower in a neighbor's flower box by her mailbox. It had such pretty pinks, purples and browns all in each petal. I didn't get it exactly, but it's pretty close. Now I just have to find out what flower it is so that I can get some for my yard too!

Back on track - sort of :)

Well, I did my first card in days! For inspiration, I started at StampTV and watched Gina K's tutorial on Poppin' Pastels. Never hurts to refresh on a technique. I combined that with SCS's sketch challenge for today and this is my result. I'm not totally thrilled with it, but I kept messing with it and had to keep re-doing the main image and finally I just had to stop. I really like this Many Wishes set from Gina K and see myself using it often.

No cards :(

I've had quite the busy weekend and, unfortunately, there hasn't been much time for card making. Friday, the boys and I spent the day at a pool with friends. Saturday, the 4th, we hosted a party and had an awesome time with some really good friends. Sunday came and we were back at the pool again :) On Monday, I spent the day running the boys around and finally, today I spent the morning helping my youngest clean out his room. I was so pleased that we were able to get rid of a lot of junk that he had been hoarding!

Wednesday brings tennis in the morning (walking the track for me and some friends). I'm really hoping to get back to some cards in the afternoon. Keep checking back!!

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge

I just love this site! So many great ideas and tutorials! This is my card for today's sketch challenge. I used CHF's Daisy Jar stamp (love it!) and some scrap SU dsp. My colors are Certainly Celery and Lavender Lace. I added a bit of bling to the corners of the main image with some green rhinestones and used some purple ricrak that a friend sent me.

Treehouse Stamps challenge

This is my card for Treehouse Stamp's challenge for today. We were to use embossing on our card. I chose the Textile folder from Cuttlebug and used it directly on the base of my card. I then used my Night of Navy ink pad and applied the ink directly to the embossed portion to give it an antiqued look. The image is from the Echoes of Kindness set from SU. I layered it on some paper (white and Garden Green) using the Decekled Rectangles from Nestabilities. I colored the flower with my Prisma pencils (still new to me). The sentiment is from TAC's Tag Tidbits.

Color Throw Down challenge

Here's my other challenge card that I did today. At Color Throwdown, we had to use Groovy Guava, Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip on our card. Not hard colors to use together, but I tell ya, it was hard using any of my Soft Sky paper. I want to hoard it because I don't have a lot left - LOL! I used my copics to color this cute little angel from High Hopes. Not sure how well you can tell, but I also used Candlelight Shimmerz on his wings.

Copic Color Challenge

My first Post!!! Welcome to my blog :) Hope you enjoy all the cards that I make and can get some inspiration from them. I've been on a challenge kick this past week and am loving all the great ideas I'm getting. I go to The Daily Dare to look at what challenges I want to do for the day and, of course, SCS too. The one for today is The Copic Colour Challenge. They give you three Copic colors and you are to use them on your card. Today's was E47, YG23 and YR68. I used all three on this beautiful flower from High Hopes. I also used a shade lighter for shading. Cardstock colors that I used are: Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava and Green Galore. I used yellow Stickles in the center and G000 Copic for the outline.
Thanks for looking!
