Better late than never......

Now that I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, I went to Stamp TV's site and checked out their challenges. I saw the inspiration one that was to use tone on tone and immediately knew what I wanted to do - ever have that happen? It's rare for me, so I ran with it!

I got the card done quicker than I would have thought and am quite proud of it, if I do say so myself. :) When I went to post it on the site for the challenge.........I noticed that the winner was drawn earlier this week. Oh well! I still made a great card, right!?

Cardstock - Sage Shadow, black, white

Ink: Sage Shadow, Copics YR21 (cream), G21 (lime green), BG93 (green gray) and C1 (cool gray) - for shadowing.

I inked up the Cuddlebug folder Celtic Knot with Sage Shadow ink and ran a piece of Sage Shadow paper thru it. Regular and Scalloped oval Nesties were used on the main image, which is from Flourishes Irish Blessing set. I used gold half-pearls for the main image and tag.

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge

My first Stamp TV Challenge entry in a loooooooong time!!! I used a different shape for the main image, but kept it close.

The image is from My Favorite Things. I used Tempting Turquoise (SU) and Lemon Tart (PTI) cardstock and some scrap dsp.

The bright, vibrant colors remind me of summer - bring it on!!

Curtain Call Color Challenge 27

Ok, here's my entry for Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge #27. This week, we had to use Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery and white. I recently got the Dahlia's set from Papertrey, Inc. and was dying to play with it. I'd also had a few of the Top Note dies laying around calling my name. I stamped the large dahlia in Melon Mambo and colored it in with the Pink Pirouette using my blender pen. I then did the same with the smaller leaf using Certainly Celery. I added some yellow Stickles to the center of the flower. The sentiment is from The Angel Company's Tag Tidbits set, stamped in Melon Mambo. I used white and Melon Mambo cardstock and Pink Pirouette DSP and Melon Mambo ribbon.

Hope you like it!

This SWEET image is from Paper Jewels. They have some wonderful digi stamps and plenty of rubbah too!
I used PTI paper - Lemon Tart and Sweet Blush. I used Labels 8 (from Spellbinders) on the main image and dsp (from SU). I colored it with my copics - what else? The sentiment is from TAC's Tag Tidbits set.
Hope you like it!

A week (or so) off.....

Ok, in my own defense, I was a bit busy. As you can see from the new profile pic (and the one above), my wonderful DS1 (on left) achieved his black belt in Tae Kwon Do this past Saturday! He's been working towards this goal for almost 3 years and in the last month, he's been taking about 5 classes a week! We had a HUGE party for him after his test and I'm just now recovering. :)

I'm hoping that now I'll have more nights free that I'll be able to work on cards and challenges. I've got a lot of projects that I want to work on also - scrapbook cruise pics, scan old pics into the computer (mostly black & white ones from my parents) so that I can preserve them better and cutting jean squares for OQC.

Long time.......no post!

WOW! Has it really been since October since I last posted??? I guess I really let this slide, huh? Well, gonna try this again and see how it goes. Not really sure how many of you are out there actually reading this.

Yesterday I actually did a challenge card for the Curtain Call Color Challenge. The colors were Taken with Teal, Kraft, So Saffron and Garden Green. I have some of those colors in the image and tied them all together with the cardstock (kraft) and dsp (SU's Delicate Dots). Hope you like it!
